To enable MediaHint on Amazon Fire TV:
Setting up MediaHint on your Amazon Fire TV is a two-part process.
Part 1: Find the IP if your router. Use the appropriate method below and note down the IP of your router.
Find Router IP on Windows
Step 1: Open up the program command prompt
Step 2: Type “ipconfig” without the quotes and press enter
Step 3: The IP address from default gateway is most likely the IP address of your router
Find Router IP on OS X
Step 1: Open System Preferences
Step 2: Go to Network
Step 3: Click Advanced
Step 4: Go to TCP/IP – here you will see the router IP
Part 2: Change the DNS on the Amazon Fire TV
Step 1: Open Settings
Step 2: Select Systems
Step 3: Select WI-FI
Step 4: Select your WI-FI network and forget WI-FI network by Pressing the button with 3 lines on it.
Step 5: Press the select button
Step 6: Select your WI-FI network
Step 7: Enter your WI-FI password and click on advanced
Step 8: Enter the first three groups of numbers exactly the same as the IP address of your router. After the first three groups, the fourth group can be anything. As an example, if your router IP is 192.168.10.1, then use the IP address 192.168.10.105
Step 9: For the default gateway, enter the IP of your router
Step 10: Input 24 for the Network Prefix Length and click next
Step 11: Enter 198.58.98.50 for DNS 1
Step 12: Enter 23.92.29.210 for DNS 2
Troubleshooting:
- You need to have a 1-click US address in your Amazon Account
- On Amazon.com go to Your Account > Manage Your Content and Devices > Country Settings and set country to United States
